Nope - our family had an assistant cook, but we cooked ourselves a lot. Very passionate about cooking and learning how to cook different dishes. All which involved copious amount of ghee.[/quote]
But that was your choice. I was born and raised in India and even my grandmothers did not use ghee lavishly. We were always conscious of oil and fat while cooking. Don’t presume to speak for over a billion people and myriad sub-cuisines.[/quote]

If 50% of a billion people have diabetes or cardiovascular disease that is a big percentage that aren't doing what your Grandmother was...India has changed dramatically in the last 10 years if you haven't been recently.[/quote]
I visit frequently. The lifestyle has changed. The traditional Indian cuisine, especially the South Indian cooking I was raised with is not an issue. If Indians eat paneer tikka and chole bhatura every day without portion control that’s not healthy but that’s also not food meant to be eaten on a regular basis.[/quote]
