What???? This makes zero sense. the 100 positive cases includes MCPS students, who are in school, unvaccinated, and wearing masks. 100 cases is nearly irrelevant, and case count itself is irrelevant when 90% or more of eligible people are vaccinated. We need to focus not on cases, but on hospitalizations (which have been increasingly low and there is no strain on the MoCo hospitals). Once kids have the option to be vaccinated, we should remove all restrictions.
7% of hospital beds are currently occupied by patients who have covid. Same as on August 22, 2021; May 5, 2021; and October 31, 2020. Once kids have the option to be vaccinated, then they can get vaccinated and won't have to be quarantined in MCPS.
Exactly. Montgomery County is not, and has never been, Texas, Florida, or Alabama. Our policies should reflect location conditions. Also, for the PP that said there were 360,000 cases a year in Moco needs some remedial math. If there are 100/day x 365 = 36,500 cases all year. The Moco dashboard says 81,338 total cases and 1643 deaths (since March 2020). https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/
