Meaning, environmental risk factors (like marijuana in adolescence to name one) are a huge part of the picture. Even if you aren’t aware of a family history it’s quite possible that your child could have that genetic vulnerability and it’s wise to minimize environmental risk factors that could cause it to manifest. It’s an unbelievably devastating disease that preys on people just starting out in life and robs them of many aspects of adult life. It’s ridiculous to be flippant about something like that when there are clear steps to decrease risk. [/quote]
