Using MoCo as a guide, along with most of the rest of the nation, and real data, a grass roots group of moms got Fairfax County to change its grading scale. Change takes a lot of work, but from what I've read here, parents of elementary and middle school kids should really start getting it together. You could start your movement right here on DCUM to get parents informed so that elementary parents realize what's going on and how a little change/choice could make things a lot better. You can also get info about how other schools handle these issues. Go for it![/quote]
