Yep, that is what makes this so amusing to me.

She obviously -loved- the idea of being royalty right up to the point where she realized she wasn't at the top of the heap.

Talk about profoundly not getting it.  She thought it was all a dress-up game that you did for show in public.

For the actual royals, this system is the only reason they don't have to have jobs, so you better believe they believe in it.
