We don't have to keep things perfect all year. Help is on the way. As early as October, we COULD potentially get some under 12 EUA for Pfizer. As recent as yesterday, Pfizer board member and former FDA Commissioner said they still plan to submit data on under 12 in September and apply for EUA in October. So in the meantime, more open windows and outdoor lunches but hang in there. https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/569914-gottlieb-says-pfizer-covid-19-vaccine-could-be-approved-for
For healthy kids under 12, there's currently less risk with COVID than riding in a car (with seatbelts and air bags) or the flu. If you're just "hanging in there" now, then you need to read up on the science and get away from the hysteria. As shown by data out of UK, unvaccinated kids have less risk of death with COVID than vaccinated people 35 or older. We should be celebrating the fact that kids are at such low risk, but some people who advocated so strenuously for schools to be closed and caused such damage to children don't want that to be the case. My kids don't wear masks except where legally required. We go to restaurants indoors with kids and bars without kids (both of which are packed). Go to Disney in Florida unmasked. People are living their lives in much of Arlington (drive through Clarendon on a weekend night). We never stopped living for the flu so no need to do something for less risk, especially now that us adults are vaccinated. The people on these boards are living on a different planet.
