The elementary school ends at 4:30, but dismissal begins at 4:20. Saturday school is only once a month and consists of extracurricular activities. For example, my ds takes a Step Class and is in Cub Scouts during his Saturday school sessions. Children can be exempt if they participate in another activity (martial arts, dance, music, sports, etc.) that conflict with Saturday school, but must provide documentation.[/quote]

It's almost dark at 4:30.  Also, our family pancakes, and playing catch at Norwood Park on Saturdays probably wouldn't make the cut.  We're not willing to give that up.  I think KIPP is great, it's just not right for us.[/quote]

Sure, I agree.  But then, I didn't exclude it from the list of top schools.  I was a new poster to the thread and simply chimed in that I respect the school, even though I wouldn't choose it for my particular child.[/quote]
