My son wouldn't care because we have raised him to be a confident young man who respects other's choices.

He's also learned from a young age, from having two moms, that the best reaction to someone looking for a rise out of you by saying mean things is to ignore them and give a slight smirk.  Now that he's an older teen, his favorite thing to do when someone says something racist/homophobic is to simply say "well, that's interesting" in a very sincere manner.  I got to see him use that one a few months ago, and I must say, it really did drive the guy bananas that that was all my son would say and wouldn't verbally spar with him.      [/quote]
