The corner isn’t that big but as an ungrad, I went to fraternity parties for much of my entertainment, plus the 10 or so restaurants and bars on the corner from time to time. (I was not in a sorority though, but many of my friends were. You still wind up going to a lot of fraternity parties). You can also walk to the downtown mall if need be, and it’s safe, especially in the day time. As a sophomore + or once someone has a car, you can go to Barracks Road or up 29 or to the Fashion Square mall. (Aka Fashion Scare mall) I went in the 90s so now that the internet is a thing, you can order anything you really need. Instead of just the Delias or JCrew catalog clothes we had access to. Haha.
This is dated. And I graduated in the last 90s but Fashion Square is basically empty, no one goes there, not even local residents, which is why it’s empty. Barracks is accessible by university transit (bus), car, feet (yes a lot of students walk there), scooter ( so many scooters), bike. As several of us have said there is a free trolley between ground and the downtown mall, though it’s not really an undergrad destination.
