I'm a highly educated woman who makes a great salary. My husband does make an effort to buy and do things that like for example he bought horses for us. I don't consider myself a spoiled woman as a personality type that's strange to me
To me, this is just normal happy relationship behavior. I’m a sahm currently and will likely not be a high earner when I return to work. Still, while my husband is the sole earner, we have 4 kids under 6 and we both work very hard. I think the whole “high maintenance” and “spoiled” relationship dynamic goes beyond giving gifts, treating each other etc. These types seem to really enjoy the presentation of being taken care of. I think “spoiled wives” are often grown up “daddy’s girls”. They, and their husbands, like to show off how wealthy he is by her portraying that she never has to lift a finger and gets showered with gifts. Someone said upthread, and I agree, that it is a kink of sorts.
