And for what it is worth if my DC has an important event, I would certainly pass off a practice and perhaps even a game to an assistant coach or ‘manager’ as long as they have been approved by the league. I always have back ups. Many volunteer coaches coach more than one team and many coach more than 1 season. Week after week and year after year they spend not just the time a practice or the game but work at home also, waiting for the parents who are 5-10’ late and evening carpooling a bunch of the players from time to time. No one should ever get upset if they miss some team events to see their own kids participate in something.[/quote]
