Kids that age need lots of love and cuddles and the security of knowing they are loved and protected by their parents. Like, developmentally, that's where they are at. They need that reassurance as often as you can give it. It sounds like your wife has found a great way to provide in a way that she also enjoys and that contributes to your child getting needed rest and relaxation. What a gift.

Parents who fixate on PK-age kids being "independent" or who think that snuggling with a parent at that age is not "age appropriate" should read a few parenting books. A 4yo is an extremely young child. He's been alive for less than 50 months. Come on.[/quote]
