Here are my way-too-early 21-22 Rankings for IAC & WCAC. IAC; 1. Bullis 2. Prep 3. Landon 4. Episcopal 5. Albans 6. SSSAS WCAC; 1. SJC 2. PVI 3. Gonzaga 4. Heights 5. DeMatha 6. O’Connell 7. Ireton 8. Ryken 9. MacNamara
Decent take, though St. Albans is still not ready to beat Saints. Swap those two and IAC looks good. Prep is graduating too much, so Bullis 23’ class will take over. For WCAC, it’s too early to tell. Will DeMatha really fall 3 spots? They did graduate a lot, but I’ve heard good things about their new coach. The only 3 programs that graduated few starters are SJC, PVI, & Heights. Heights will have similar talent to DeMatha, so that matchup will be a test of who the better coach is between the two brothers.
Forgot Good Counsel. Heights ranked too high. DeMatha’s always had a better program and so has Good Counsel. DeMatha beat Gonzaga this year and Gonzaga spanked Heights.
The question for WCAC is how far Gonzaga will fall. At best they finish 3rd behind SJC and PVI and at worst they finish 4th behind DeMatha. Not a chance Heights finishes 4th. They’ve never even finished in the top 6 and they just lost their coach.
Heights finished 5th this year, and beat every WCAC team in 2019 besides Gonzaga and SJC (who they played to one goal). DMitch also didn’t just dump the program. My son plays club ball for him, no chance he would just leave the program that gave him his business u less it was in good hands -which it is with his brother BOH- Will Heights come in 4th? Probably not, but there is a decent chance. They have the best Goalie in the WCAC who is a senior.
