Mostly it’s a money grab so that club coaches can play while gullible college kids get to pay.
Money grab? It's like $200. Maybe not nothing, but not much more than most rec leagues for 2-3 months.
Considering what league fees and field rentals cost, it’s hardly a cash cow. Clubs probably lose money on it or coaches work for free.
They probably take money from the ulittles programs to pay for the coaches to relive their glory days.
Bitter, table for one please. What did you fail at to make you such a donkey?
I’m not sure how anyone could interpret this as bitter. Offended maybe. I mean if youth soccer fees are being used to pay for a clubs coaches and administrators to subsidize their entertainment, that could very easily be seen as offensive. Some might even suggest reprehensible, immoral, likely improper/illegal, etc… but bitter, I don’t think so.
What club(s) are entering teams into this league that consist of their coaches and administrators?
Alexandria
Okay so that's one club, if even true. You're acting like every team in the league is using dues for their staff to play.
I lost all respect for that Club. They have forgotten who they were. They have morphed into all the things we used to despise at other Clubs in the area. Impersonal and chasing a dream while shitting on all of the players and families that were there for years. They play them. They will lead them on and then in the 11th hour do a bait and switch. It's disgusting. The quality of coaching has declined drastically. The style of play is no longer what it was. Lots of big egos and arrogance.
It’s all about lining Tommy’s pockets. He’ll call himself team president and than take a salary to cover that job - a salary paid for by youth fees. One of the other club staff will be the player-coach and take a salary paid for by youth fees. They stopped caring about kids a long time ago, it’s just about them. They try to deflect by claiming community is the most important, but this is only the case so they can get paid and recruit scholarship kids from outside of the community to be on their top teams. The community needs to keep funding them or it all falls apart. These guys should be run out of town.
They love to bring in new players that they have barely seen play (just an hour or 2) and screw over their tried and true players in order to get more into the Club. They can do this because they have the very latest tryouts in the DMV and if players are loyal and assume based on starting and playing time that they will continue with their team...they can bait and switch at the last minute. I have seen this happen so many times in the past few years. It's an incredibly shitty thing to do to kids with zero warning. I have seen more players than usual walking off in the past few years. Some had been with the club since age 9. There area few good coaches, but they do not have say over their roster that is done by Coaches that have never seen these kids play all year. I have even seen them completely ignore coach recommendations. It's gotten very toxic and a lot has to do with the arrogance of a few of them. It's also why some of the teams are no longer performing well. They will also keep charity cases that are so out of shape they have to ask to be subbed out of the game...don't know if that's a way to keep the fees for themselves or what---what would have been a player's free tuition fee.
