Both had personality disorders, but his behavior seemed downright sociopathic. https://www.aetv.com/real-crime/inside-the-psychological-battleground-that-pushed-san-diego-socialite-betty-broderick-to-commit-murder
Interesting that she keeps being denied parole.
Because she hasn't expressed sincere remorse. Not sure I blame her. They tried to destroy her using their legal and social advantages; she felt powerless and destroyed them physically. She was the wronged party and at such a disadvantage in the financial and custody settlement. Not that I condone murder, but I can understand her feeling cornered and lashing out in the worst way possible. Especially when she was barely allowed to see her children, when at least two of them expressed a clear desire to live with her (rather than be raised by dad's housekeepers). Such a sad, toxic situation, fueled largely by the victims' callousness and lack of respect for her imo. I can understand her relief that she doesn't have to be tormented by them any longer. Too bad she didn't have the therapeutic support she needed to learn to process her hurt and anger more productively. But if nothing else, she should have given more thought to the fallout for her children.
