I received the raw score from DC's teacher. 555 for math 7, and 600 for English 6, She's a 6 grader and so disappointed about math. In the past she received higher scores for math, so I am wondering if her being tracked in the advanced math or learning virtual made it tougher for her. We live in a different county so math tracking and handling of SOL scores may be different from FCPS.
I don’t get this at all. Comments like this make me feel incredibly sorry for children. Your child got a PERFECT score on Reading SOL and you are “disappointed” that your 11-12 year old got 2-3 questions wrong on a middle school level math SOL? What exactly ever makes you a proud parent?
Pp here. I am not disappointed. I was relieved that she learned well, despite this year being tough. However, my kid is disappointed. She thought she was getting a similar score from previous years. She expects more from herself. I don’t know if I was proud of her when she got good test scores in the past, though. math and reading comes pretty easily for her. She pays attention during class and she does her homework, but she doesn’t do anything extra. I told her I was really proud of her when she tried out for a school athletic team, and stuck with it with a good attitude despite being pretty much the worst player of the team. (Of course I didn’t tell her the worst player part.)
She's in an FCPS 6th grade and tried out for a "school athletic team"? I call BS.
