I don’t know the circumstances, but wouldn’t having direct experience with the game be relevant to soccer discussion?

Agree.  But many of these people and their families have intimate knowledge of the landscape and the game and have been involved due to every generation and nieces/nephews and relatives, including their own, along the way.

There are definitely so.many.more kids playing these days.  And, I readily admit (as somebody that played D1 soccer...ha, ha ), the kids today have better technical skill at younger ages.

The sheer number of teams, leagues and kids is mind-boggling.  [/quote]
