Exactly, more like the opposite.  Social climbers who arent very good at it.

At least at Chevy you legendarily have to know several people to get an invite.  People are just calling up Kenwood and demanding to join.  it makes sense to join something when all your friends are members- when you're calling the office because you dont know anyone but just want to be a part of a country club, that's way more of a social climber.[/quote]

I’m the PP that doesn’t know anyone at Kenwood. We don’t care about social climbing - just looking for a convenient place to play golf (without the hassle of a public course), swim, tennis and low key family oriented country club. I grew up with a country club in other state and thoroughly enjoyed the convenience/experience and would want it for our kids.  If I wanted to social climb, I’d take up my colleagues, friends and neighbors who have offered to sponsor us at Congressional, Columbia, Edgemoor among others, unprompted. We’ve never taken them up on it. We’re now starting to consider something low key that seems like a good fit for our family is all. [/quote]
