Well I live in DC and masks are going away for me. I’ve simply stopped wearing them. If the manager of a store asks me to wear one, I will- but not some random other shopper or person on the street. I am firmly of the opinion that we have to start taking this matter into our own hands, and pushing back.
So you're ok with making extra work for the manager of a store? Based on "I don't wanna have to wear a mask, and I shouldn't have to"? I honestly don't understand the huge fuss some people are making about wearing a mask. For me personally, wearing a mask has been the least bad thing related to the pandemic. Many, many other things have been worse. And I've been very fortunate, so those other things don't even include -getting covid -getting seriously ill from covid -dying from covid -losing my job -losing my home But here people are, acting as though unnecessary mask-wearing were the worst thing that ever happened to any person in the history of the world.
+1 I'll happily stop wearing a mask outdoors, but I'm not going to make life one iota harder for some retail clerk or grocery store employee. Wearing masks indoors is like the least difficult thing ever., and pretty much everything can be open. People are such children. I'd imagine that they changed the rule again because putting the burden of deciding whether or not someone needs to wear a mask on frontline workers is a PITA, and might lead to unpleasant and even violent confrontations. It's MUCH easier for businesses to have a mandate that they can point to.
It called being selfish and self-centered. Lets say. 25% of this country could never be called part of the Greatest Generation.
