People will come up with all kinds of elaborate excuses but it's just that. It's a great school.I  think there's an actual percentage of white kids for most white families to feel comfortable sending their kids.

What is interesting is that back in the late 90's School without Walls was majority black my husband was one of the 3 white students who graduated in his class[/quote]

I’m a white parent and want to add more context to our choice not to consider Banneker. I am wary of taking a spot that would otherwise go to a Black child. It feels wrong to come in and take advantage of something fantastic that Black people built to help academically inclined Black children get a leg up in this world. Just doesn’t feel right to me.
