I agree except the 'fix' is in as soon as they go to 11 v 11. It is not so much a fix as you are not going to make a top team if your kid is merely as good as an average player on that team. They need to be better. Top 5 on that team is a rough guess although certainly depends on a teams needs. Not a fix and frankly parents complaining their kid didnt make a team because they were 'as good as' players is silly. Development and history with a club shouldn't be everything but it should count. If they are better they are better. Think about all the kids on the 2nd and 3rd teams of those clubs. They NEVER get called up. You are much better coming from outside a club to make the top team then being internal. Not fair either as a number of them could play with the top team,

Anyway, 1. coaches make up their minds about kids and they are directed to various levels in a club 2. Coaches do like shiny new toys but they need to be strong because 3. they dont want constant turmoil and chaos. [/quote]
