Mine got into Maryland, for spring admission (Letters and Sciences). He can start in the fall, but will have to take afternoon classes and the gateway courses for his major (CS). I would say that if you are in-state and applying to an LEP, Freshman Connection might be the most likely result. Also into UMBC, Salisbury, SMCM.
Pp, is your son a student in mcps? And what was his gpa and general level of classes? I am in shock that a strong gpa and a 1400 does not get one into UMDCP. - parent of a younger high schooler
Not MCPS, but in-state. Unweighted GPA was around a 3.4/3.5 with 3 APs and 4 dual enrollment classes at the time of application (8 total) (plus an engineering course). Again, the planned major was Computer Science which is an LEP.
Your son sounds like a great student! Thanks for this information. Do you know if one can still graduate in 4 years if admitted via Freshman Connection?
