You have to spend more time at your neighborhood playground. And not bother trying to police who is masked, since some kids won’t be. They can make some friends.
Yeah I hear ya, but just not willing to do that. We sort of did that at the beginning but DH and I both have some health issues that arent in the tier but we feel would be problematic with covid.
But outdoor masked playdates (where both children are masked) is pretty low risk, OP.
Thanks yeah we just have to start scheduling more one on one play dates in non playgrounds between masked kids outside. I will do that. Today was just hard for some reason.
We have just started doing outdoor masked play dates with friends, but at playgrounds. What's the issue with playgrounds if everyone is wearing a mask? These play dates have been a godsend for the kids and for us. We have been extremely cautious until now, and the risk seems really low and worth it for everyone's mental health.
Not OP, but at playgrounds, not everyone has their kids wear masks, unfortunately. Even older kids. We've enjoyed checking out some of the less popular playgrounds in our area and having masked playdates there. They may not have as much equipment, but we bring stuff to do, too. I get that you were having a rough day, OP, and that you are actually doing masked playdates. But I am hearing lots of parents saying their kids aren't playing with anyone outside the family, and it makes me so sad. It is senseless when we can really minimize the risks so much with just a little thought.
