A Swami is a Hindu monk. He is also a religious leader of congregations. Like priest, rabbi, Imam. The terms for Hindu figures like Swami and Guru have been ridiculed into caricatures. As something exotic, not ‘real’, as snake oil peddlers, as funny people in weird clothes and that recite strange ‘spells’, Fortune Tellers, etc.

I know this is DCUM and I will get mostly a bunch of snarky replies back but to those of you that are trying your best not to go around making fun of people based on their religion, I hope you will consider evolving past this and into a different, less ridiculing, name.

I love Swami (the person and what she does here) and I appreciate the thoughtful way in which you brought this up. I wouldn't be opposed to an evolution/change of nomenclature, though I suppose this is Swami's choice. I hope everybody stays nice to Swami though because I love this game and every year this is one of the least mean/most fun threads on this forum.[/quote]
