I work in cyber and we just (6 months ago) cut all access from abroad. I get cyber purposely keeps people in the dark about threats but come on people... pandemic, vaccines, new president.
Can you explain what this means? I don't really understand anything about tech or cyber security. How does logging in to school from another country or Hawaii make things vulnerable?
Citizens in many other countries have no right to privacy. If you bring your laptop and log in from abroad there is a good chance a state sponsored entity will have access to all content on your laptop or communicating through your connect. I for one don’t want a foreign actor recording my child when in class just so that’s you can go on vacation. Staff really should be required to stay in district in a location that is conducive to a good virtual teaching experience. I keep hearing reports of teachers teaching class form the beach making the sound quality awful for the students. This is your job. Students should not be accommodating your beach vacation.
They also install stuff on your computer and/or phone in customs.
Is Q now in DCUM
DQUM
Points for funny!
