This is ludicrous.  Your friend just wants to make a point by bringing her dog over.

If you "understand the point of view of people who fear pit bulls" and you "want to respect your community," why on earth would you invite this dog over?  Your friend sounds like one of those weirdos who thinks her dog is a person.  [/quote]
