I thought it was Chicago based on an article I read.

I wrote that quickly - I don't really have a problem with Boston as the location. In fact, I appreciated the way they worked in Fenway Park and The Boston Globe. It was more the situation in Boston - well-established Gilead society where June keeps ending up back in a home as a handmaid. I am ready to move away from that.[/quote]

If I am remembering correctly, I think in season 3 Chicago was the "front" where Gilead was fighting the Americans or resistance. That would make sense geographically too. We know Gilead extends as far north as Boston and at least as far south as DC, it seems like the natural path for expansion would be to advance west. [/quote]
