Students and staff were supposed to return January 21. After this upcoming 5-day weekend. Due to the high level of cases and infection rates as described in the risk Matrix there’s no telling when they’ll return. What’s not forthcoming is the vaccine rollout being slow, unorganized and high numbers of declinations. So I guess third quarter will be mostly if not all virtual. Who would’ve thought back in August that 75% of the year would be virtual. Anyone thinks they’ll have virtual until June? https://www.lcps.org/cms/lib/VA01000195/Centricity/domain/61/2020-2021_files/LCPS_Risk%20Matrix_for_In-Person_Learning-01122021.pdf
If a lot of teachers are refusing the vaccine, can they be fired?
No but we aren’t refusing it! They literally do not have dates scheduled. They have briefly opened up only a few and they immediately fill. We got a long email from the interim superintendent about issues with supply of vaccines. They don’t know when they’ll have enough. It’s going to take a long time to get us all vaccinated and they ask for patience. But even if staff refuses it, no they can’t be fired. They would just go in and risk it.
I’m not refusing it. I’m simply not showing up to any of those inoculation camps and subjugating my body. Before your blood pressure starts rising relax. I’m not leaving, resigning or quitting. I’ll work with no problem whatsoever. What parents might have a problem with is my mask exemption. I’m not working with my face covered. But it is what it is. Not only kids have exemptions. So deal with it.
