DP.  You do realize that all of your arguments about the need for tennis to maintain fitness apply equally to futsal, right?

DP. I see your argument, but futsal benefits at the expense of tennis benefits is dumb. The tennis players should be allowed to play on the tennis courts and the soccer players can play on the empty soccer field. Everyone benefits... To your other comment, Poors will never have the opportunity to play tennis if the rich/entitled parents keep using their money to deprive access to the courts. It kind of feels like this whole futsal thing is designed to prevent anyone who isn’t paying a membership fee to some club from ever getting access to public resources. Quite frankly, this whole situation is a disgusting display of entitlement and economic discrimination. [/quote]

It's a handful of courts for 6-7 weeks in the middle of F-ing winter because indoor facilities aren't appropriate right now.  Stop your belly aching and go for a jog or something. Unbelievable.  Be happy that kids are finding an outlet since they aren't allowed to go to school.  Just unbelievable.  [/quote]

In addition, Futsal is similar to soccer but it isn't soccer.  It's a different ball on a different surface, with slightly different lines and rules.  Sure you can say, let the soccer players just go play soccer, but futsal isn't exactly soccer.  You are asking the kids to just NOT play futsal or play a modified version of futsal.  The reverse argument can be made just as well such as...you can go to a parking lot and play tennis using cones as boundaries and use a makeshift net. You can say that "we" could have done the same and used a parking lot instead of a tennis court, so the argument can go on and on.  Facts are, they are public courts and someone went and got permits for them.  Again, it's only temporary.[/quote]
