I think it is meant to be a safety net to make sure kids are getting dental care. Same thing in the the district. Does anyone remember a few years ago when that 6 year old up in Baltimore died from an infected tooth?
So MCPS will send my kids to the Dentist and pay for it? Great!
Right- because if you aren't seeing a Dentist or can't afford one - what are they doing about it? Nothing. Just mindless absurd bureaucratic red tape and paperwork.
Op again and besides my objection to the fact that our health info is none of their business and schools are not bound by Hipaa it is one more thing to do at a time when there is no time. It requires an office signature. Who has the time for that now? And for the one snarky poster I was making sure there was no legal angle I missed, which the helpful posters clarified.
" i have no time to fill out forms for my children's health" she wrote after posting numerous Karen posts to an anonymous message board all day.
Exactly. In the time she posted and responded, she could have called her dentist and asked them to send her a signed form. It is not a big deal, and if it means a whole bunch of kids get regular check-ups when they wouldn't have otherwise, its worth the inconvenience and intrusion on personal rights.
