Every time I read one of these threads, I hate car dealers even more. I'm buying my next car from Carvana--I will pay a premium to avoid this nightmare.
I’m the person who posted the super long post. I actually found the process fun, and I am not the type of person who negotiates well in person. It’s nice to have it all figured ahead of time—weirdly empowering. Although even with all the detailed emails going back and forth, when I got there they tried to say that the cargo net I wanted was not included and that they didn’t have any stock. I said “hmm too bad bc I would have loved to give five stars on the dealership survey” ... and wouldn’t you know that they “found” one for me. The key is that you have to be willing to walk at any moment. I knew I could do that because I knew that I could get the same price elsewhere. I rarely use that silly cargo net but every time I see it, it makes me smile!
