He’s another Hutchings (ACPS). Even plays up the “Dr.” and other dime store designations the same way. Will run the system to benefit the administration and teachers NOT the students. Equity BS as opposed to student performance goals. Better hope it really is only interim. Sorry Loudoun.
Does that mean he will try to do something about the unending problems with racism we've had in the school system? And you're against that why?
Equity in this sense is an intangible set of goals that can’t be measured, which leads to no accountability of performance. As opposed to those who have been discriminated against being brought up to standard scores, which can be measured. I hope no one is against equity, but not in the way these systems are using the term, to feel better about themselves and not helping students learn so that they can achieve success in the long term.
Equity means dumbing down the curriculum and given everyone less so that smart conscientious kids don’t get “ahead” of anyone. It’s utter BS.
Do you even acknowledge that there is a problem with racism in the school system? What do you think about the state's findings wrt racism in hiring and selecting students for the academies?
I'm familiar with it. But the solution is not holding everyone back until the others catch up. My kids are not old enough for the academics but I wouldn't send them anyway. The point is that with the "everyone can do honors" policy and the super lenient grading and retakes policy, the curriculum is so so watered down and kids that are even remotely smart are bored to tears.
Your kids aren’t school aged and you won’t send them anyway? This isn’t your lane.
I did not say they weren't school aged. I said they weren't old enough for the academics and they aren't, as my oldest is in 7th and both kids have gone through the gifted program, which is about as lame as it gets. They let anyone into honors, let anyone retake a test they did poorly on. The school board recently posted that graduating HS with a 4.0 doesn't even put you in the top half of the class. Its a joke.
Wow, if having a 4.0 doesn’t even put you in the top 50% then the classes are too easy or that’s grade inflation. Sounds like classes are too easy from PP. These kids are going to face a harsh reality when they get to college.......
