We don't generally uses that term in the U.S., but it would be another way of describing intellectual disabilities, previously known as mental retardation. A child with specific learning disablities (often shortened to learning disabilities) has problems with specific discrete skills, such as working memory, sequencing, phonemic processing, but has other areas that are uneffected.[/quote]
