It's not true to say that Congress doesn't care.  The Dems care.  Mcconnell cares but he also has recently come back to the church of fiscal conservatism.  Trump DNGAF about people.  He is deliberately throwing a wrench in the works, because he wants to cut unemployment in order to force people back to work, all for his legacy numbers.[/quote]

If the Dems cared they would have signed a temporary relief bill months ago. Month-after-month bills have been on the table. Nothing was done. Unemployment + stimulus only was also on offer separately from Mnuchin.

And before you say that didn't happen - here's McConnell offering it in October.

There was another Senate vote on September 10th. Same thing happened.
