I am not an Annemarie or related to an Annemarie, but it was common enough when I taught abroad.[/quote] While it’s true that Annemarie is common in Germany, etc. it should be pointed out that they pronounce the E abroad so it sounds like Anna, not Ann. That’s even more confusing and more likely to confuse new acquaintances.[/quote]
