Anytime I spoke about how I felt, I was told it was my fault or she made me feel bad for feeling how I felt (oh I'm such a terrible mother.  You'd be better off if I was dead)

Curious what “mental health issues” your mom had.  I know a lot of parents who say stupid things in frustration.  Sarcasm isn’t awesome parenting for sure!  I just didn’t realize it was a sign of illness. As to OP, I agree!  Doing a great job, OP!!  Sending you best thoughts![/quote]
