Kids don't wear masks while eating and sleeping. Also, there are plenty of opportunities to eschange germs in childcare. And I don't believe that 2 years old will wear mask for 3-4 hours without take it out, share it with friends, hide it in some dirty corners, and etc... But if make you feel good, keep thinking that 2 years kids wear mask all day long.
If you don't want to send your kid to daycare or preschool, that's fine, but it sounds like you don't have any personal experience with sending your kid back to school with mask requirements, so why bother to comment? I used to think this way too until I sent my almost 3 year old back to daycare last month. He's better about keeping his mask over his nose than most adults, and really doesn't touch it that often. Of course they have them off when they're sleeping and eating, but the class is also very small and they're sitting and sleeping far apart. Some families need daycare - for a myriad of reasons. And I think most daycares that have opened or have stayed opened are doing a great job. Not all of us can afford pod tutors or to leave our jobs.
+1. Our daycare has been open since July with no known cases so far. My 4yo has no trouble wearing a mask. Kids are adaptable.
