Those are pretty rare examples of hitting a stereotype.  Most big law partners I know drive boring cars --- subarus and mid-grade SUVs.[/quote]

Drive around McLean or Bethesda up Elm street going out of downtown some time. Some rich people in these places are driving BMWs Range Rovers Mercedes and Porsche. I’ve not seen a high end new construction home without a fancy car. In fact every doctor I can think of I’ve over known drives a Mercedes or Porsche. [/quote]

Our neighbors drove two Porsches and all the kids had new BMWs or Jeeps.  Then Covid struck and the wife lost her job. Now they’re turning in cars, selling the house, etc.  Moral:  there’s probably a lot of people spending everything they make.  They look “rich” But have very little financial security.

We’re at $2.5 MM w two used Volvos. Both paid for a long time ago.  I always felt like we were the less secure financially, etc.  Turns out...just the opposite in a sense.
