We had been planning on Daisy for a girl, but then Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry named their daughter Daisy and now I'm having second thoughts. Just found out the sex (girl!) so now I need to decide whether to go ahead with Daisy or switch. I like that it's short and sweet. Our older daughter has a longer, kind of musical name, but we mostly call her by her -y nn (think Molly or Ginny), and we really like how it goes with Daisy. We also like that our older daughter's name is cheerful and want something similar. We feel like a child born in a pandemic deserves a cheery name! Some alternatives I'm considering: Poppy Lucy Dahlia (nn Dolly) Lettie (probably short for Violet but maybe on its own). Thoughts? Other suggestions?
Lucy is not a cheerful name. It’s Lucifer, as in the devil. Your others are fine. I would add Rose and call her Rosie. However, if you really love Daisy, just go with it. Doesn’t matter that some famous person named their kid that. They don’t own the name. Plus you’re not naming your kid after their‘s.
