In the DMV area, I think they are much more likely to be orthodox Jews than fundamental Christians.[/quote] This is wrong. The eruv does not allow you to drive on shabbat or a holiday. All the eruv does is allow for carrying things, like pushing a stroller or carrying a bag. If they were driving in a Saturday they were not Jewish. [/quote]
