I did not have any reaction to the flu shot this year. So maybe it depends on the person and how your antibodies are fighting the shot. N I had flu like symptoms after my second shingles shot. But not my flu shot.
The flu shot shouldn’t usually cause a fever. The shingles shot will usually give you a high fever, chills, etc for a few days. If anyone is due for a shingles shot this fall/winter, you may want to get a covid test at the same time so you aren’t concerned.
I got the flu shot and the first shingles (shingrix) shot at the same time - kicked my ass with fever, chills, aches, etc. for an entire weekend, and was followed by a skin outbreak (hives? rash? not sure what) on face, scalp, neck, hands, and chest that I'm still dealing with a few weeks later even after consulting the doctor & trying rx creams. Not sure if it was due to one, the other, or the combo, but not a great time. (I also got a covid test last week (negative).) Getting a covid test concurrently with the vaccine is good advice.
