For those of you who require a certain number/mins of activities, what would you or did you do if you had a child that seriously pushed back on your requirements?
Well of course this happened. My daughter hated soccer with a passion. She had a couple tantrums about it. I reminded her that that was the sport she chose for the season and that we had paid good money for it, that the coaches were there for each practice and to be respectful of their time, and we showed up for each practice on time until the (rec) season ended. And she never played soccer again.
I guess I mean your requirements in general. Like if you required an instrument specifically say, and they just hated it no matter what instrument they tried.
I never saw push back on the requirements in general. But it did take a couple instruments and sports before one clicked, and that was true for each kid. I think modeling helps - mom and dad both play instruments, we are both athletic, we both read daily (another family requirement) etc and they see that in our lives.
