OP here. I still eat gluten when we go out. My wife has PCOS, acid reflux, and rosacea. She read that eliminating these foods can help. I don’t think it’s a phase. She has been wanting to help alleviate or get rid of these symptoms for years. We eat healthy most of the time. I just don’t like that I can’t bring things into my home.
If she has health reasons for changing her eating that's fine. If she does all the shopping and cooking it's going to affect you too. But if you shop or cook, you can purchase or make something for yourself that doesn't conform to her rules. Not to secretly feed it to her, but for you and the kids, that shouldn't be a problem. My guess is she does all the shopping, all the meal planning, all the cooking, and she's prioritizing something other than your tastebuds for the first time, so it feels like oppression. Based on the fact that you get takeout twice a week that doesn't fall into her eating guidelines, it's a solid bet that no one is barring the door from you coming home with a grocery bag. She's just not buying the things that are causing her health problems and you're making it about you.
