In this region at least those teams are now split between ECNL and MLS league, and I think the ECNL league will be quite a bit stronger than EDP. The MLS league will also be stronger than EDP, although it's still not completely clear to me whether that league will hold together and where the newly added clubs will play their older teams which are not part of MLS league. For girls I know less, but I had a daughter on a team which handily won NCSL div 1 and then that same team ended up in CCL next year when the club joined CCL.
