I had this same issue and ultimately decided not to enroll because I've never seen a school give less of a shit about new families enrolling that I saw at LAMB. Compared to Lee, Two Rivers, Inspired Teaching and DCB just to be clear. I mean, WTF?
LOL! They don’t care about SD, too busy with Kingsbury.
Well OP, take consolation. It’s not just new families. There is a recent LAMB thread where the majority of current parents who took to DCUM to express their views, were very unhappy because distance learning in the spring was so bad. One family thought all they cared about was getting Kingsbury going.
No, the recent thread had some posters in that thread that were unhappy with how distance learning went, but you can no way extrapolate that a majority of current parents are unhappy. I know I'm not the only one that thinks the school is doing the best the can all things considered. I'm sorry to hear that the PP was frustrated with the enrollment process, there is certainly a lot in flux for the school this summer, but yes, the school should be responsive to new parents.
+1 to hardly a majority were unhappy. We also were not unhappy and appreciate how the school adjusted their learning as the Spring went on and became more rigorous as time went on.
+2. We were also not unhappy. Yes, everything is a disaster. Yes, LAMB has never excelled at reaching out to new parents. Yes, the pandemic has not made that better. But we have been there for many years (meaning we have kids not in primary) and were not unhappy with DL. It took a couple tries to find a good way to make it work, but by the end of April it was good - I would say we got 6 good weeks of learning new content. In terms of reach out, I would strongly suggest using the email address.
OP here. I have emailed and haven’t heard back. Have to accept by tonight.
Accept by tonight according to Lamb or My School? Can you call my school?
MSDC deadline is Friday. School’s is today at 5pm.
If you replied to the offer email already you should be set. Is that what you did?
Not with an acceptance. Wanted to ask some questions first.
So basically you’re being high maintenance. OP, the school is trying to figure out a schedule for the fall, class lists, a new attendance policy, bring parents and teachers up to speed, etc. If you have questions, post them here! Or accept the spot and then figure it out. Honestly, you seem intentionally helpless.
Hopefully you don’t represent the parents at LAMB.
