My friend, even as a NZ citizen, isn't planning on leaving for the rest of this year and probably 2021 because of the hassle of coming back and the uncertainty of changing standards.  The risk of spending months without seeing your kids is, in my mind, too great to take.  If I had ties to NZ I would move my family there in a heartbeat, not just because of covid, but also because of what I see to be the generally less competitive lifestyle.
