That means that the average MWPD cop will lose out on almost $1500 per year of overtime fraud. Pity the poor hero-warriors.
And the next time one of those cops sees a guy they’ve arrested before for vehicle burglaries casing your car with a window-breaker hammer sticking out of his pocket, he’ll just ignore it, and come back later to make a report and give you a CCN for your insurance company. And you get to eat your insurance deductible and pay higher rates, all so some career petty criminal can break the window on your car just to find out there was nothing inside to steal. Enjoy your defunded police and all the wonderful quality of life crimes that come with it. You’ve earned it.
That's a great description of what already happens now. MPD DGAF Let's give these kids real opportunities and they'll use their hammers for building.
Lol, give them hammers?!?! Ok, here’s an opportunity for you to prove your point. Why don’t you visit Brentwood or Columbia Heights any of the marginalized communities and bring some hammers. Show whoever is interested your way of life. Maybe you can communicate a clear and concise plan for how the hammers will lead them to salvation. Then let everyone know what a huge success your plan is. We’ll be here waiting. Come on, put your money where your mouth is and put the time, effort and money that will make the difference. Since the police dgaf, show us how you do:)
Wow, are you really unaware of mentoring programs? Have you seriously met zero people who grew up from rough backgrounds that turned out pretty decent? I've never quite a few. I can and do volunteer my time and money. We could do a lot more a for these kids if we acted as a city. It's like asking for people to voluntarily use less plastic instead of having comprehensive legislation to solve a major problem.
