No virtual learning will do this? No, because the parents would need to be home or be paying someone to be home with the kid anyway. Not having in person could certainly affect the job situation, but not having virtual learning doesn’t impact jobs. There’s really not much of value you can do virtually with a 3 year old and it has to be fully supervised by an adult at home.[/quote]

Speak for yourself. My 3-year-old got a lot out of the virtual learning her private preschool offered when the pandemic first hit. Give us the options, you choose what works for your family. [/quote]

NP here. I've no idea to what post you are replying, but it wasn't the one to which you hit "reply". The PPP poster was simply making the (excellent) point that whether or not DCPS does DL for 3 and 4 year olds doesn't drive joblessness. This isn't debatable. Whether or not your kid participates in a Zoom call for 1 2 or 4 hours a day, you cannot leave a 3 or 4 year old unsupervised for that (or any) period of time. So one way or the other childcare needs to be solved for.

There are legitimate arguments for and against DL vs. in-person. Nothing is perfect and no one can see the future (Florida was taking victory laps a few months ago!). But what I think PPP was saying is that arguments for or against should be made on an intellectually honest basis, not with nonsense logic. [/quote]
