And your son is more important than all the people lined up ahead of him because why? And how did he get to school all these years up until now? Get over yourself, you and he are not that special. Wait in line like everybody else.
Well, the difference is that he used to have two parents in his household and now he has just me. It's a lot to manage. It would help a lot to have him drive. And where did I ever suggest he should get ahead of others? I don't think any tax paying citizen--who is going to work everyday, during a pandemic, by the way--should accept just waiting 4 to 5 months while employees of the DMV stay home and get paid, by us.
+1. You’re exactly right OP. These sanctimonious posters are missing the point. My drivers license expires next month; I can’t get an appointment until October for a simple renewal. We should all be putting pressure on DC government to get moving on this matter. It’s completely unacceptable
Strange. In the past two months we were able to: 1) upgrade from provisional license to full license 2) renew drivers license 3) get new learners permit Made appointments on the DMV website. Went to the service centers at appointed dates/times with proper documentation. No muss or fuss. In a month, the one who got the learners permit will sign up for the drivers test, wait their turn and hopefully pass to get their provisional license. IOW, there is always a back up for the road test, so sign up early and wait your turn.
