[/quote] Guys read "strong and independent" as "strident and argumentative" which is the opposite of the "pleasant and agreeable" that they want. Most guys get more than enough arguments, nitpicking, and ballbusting at work, they don't need to come home to that as well. Also, you'd be surprised how often "independent" is coupled with "full-time single mom" - i.e., dependent on alimony and child support, so not independent at all.[/quote]
